Go forth into the galaxy, steal AI technology, recapture those planets you must in order to achieve your ends, and save what remains of humanity. There will never be more than a few thousand of your ships versus tens of thousands of theirs, but through careful strategy you must somehow reach and destroy the heavily-guarded AI cores. You have production techniques that can churn out fully-outfitted unmanned fighters in seconds. You have safe AI routines to automate defenses and mining outposts. You do have a few things going in your favor. The AI subcommanders will fight you to the death when they see you - but your glimmer of opportunity comes from quietly subduing those subcommanders without alerting central processing to the danger until it's too late. AI War is a large-scale RTS that arose out of many of the innovations of SupCom. The guys who made the great game AI War: Fleet Command, one of the best RTSs in recent memory, are trying to make a sequel. This inattention is our only hope: a small resistance, too insignificant even to be noticed by the AI central command, has survived. I dont always shill, but when I do, its for a really great RTS. AI death squads stand watch over every planet and every wormhole, the few remaining human settlements are held captive in orbiting bubbles, and the AIs have turned their attention outward, away from the galaxy, to alien threats or opportunities unknown. Also, there’s quite a bit of complexity, but the rules start you out simple and then with each game across your first few you add a new level of complexity. Kickstarter must, and will always be, on the side of creative work and the humans behind that work. The art is fantastic and while you have duplicate creatures in your army, each token has a different color palate making it easy to distinguish one token from another. There’s more that I like about Myth Wars though. I’d also recommend this if you like to play war games and want to play something like it with friends and family who aren’t as committed to it as you. If you’ve ever thought about trying a war game, I’d highly recommend this. Each player controls an army (there are recommended armies for the first time you play), you use a ruler to measure your movement and your attack range, you roll dice to determine hits and damage, and there’s terrain to consider. I really appreciated how quick everything was (helped by the fact players take turns simultaneously) and how simple it was as well. If that is not a more streamlined war game experience, I don’t know what is. I’m happy to report that our 1v1 game took roughly 1 hour and that included him explaining the rules to me.
